Grandview, MO

This small, funky cafe with a vintage vibe is a family run business. The day we visited for lunch, Mom Zoe was in and out of the kitchen, always keeping an eye on the front of the cafe, and delivering house-made sandwiches with freshly cut carrot chips to our table. Her daughter was standing steadfast at the cash register which was actually an iPad on a stand with a credit card swipe attached….very technically forward!

Roger and I had had similar vegetable sandwiches, although he chose his as a toasted panini. My sandwich was made with gluten-free bread, and chock full of fresh, local vegetables with a slather of homemade hummus – really yummy! A must visit again when we’re back in KC!
