Cheese Sauce for Everything

This is a MUST have on hand sauce. It takes less than 2 minutes to make, so double up on the ingredients. You’re going to want to pour this over everything!

Makes 1-1/2 cups


  • 12 oz.  (about 1 cup) silken tofu (such as Mori-Nu Soft Silken Tofu)
  • 1/2 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 Tbls. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbls. miso paste (white, “mellow” or chickpea miso)
  • 1/2-3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder


  1. Blend all ingredients together until very smooth and creamy in a blender or food processor. (I use my single cup Ninja blender.)
  2. Heat the cheese sauce for sandwiches, or pour it over potatoes or steamed veggies and pasta.
